Description: Hello, My name is Julian Sing. I am adult fan of Lego and as a result I belong to a club called Sydlug which I believe you have worked together before. Sydlug goes around Sydney putting on LEGO shows to raise money for that local community project what ever that is. Mainly for schools or charity organisations. We are a club of like minded professionals who enjoy the hobby of LEGO and come from all walks of life for a common goal. Two years ago my newly born daughter was sick and she needed a major surgery. During this period we were lovely taken care of by the generous volunteers at Ronald McDonald House (RMH). Our stay was brief though I was so touched by is I did my own fundraiser. I raised a few hundred dollars and bought just over 40 LEGO sets which I donated to RMH so that the kids and there families who had to have Christmas in Hospital May just for a moment forget their troubles and enjoy. This Year I have decided to do it again. Though this time with the club. Unfortunately two of our members also have troubles of their own. There daughter, now 6 months old has not left intensive care or left Westmead since the day she was born. Her parents (our members) live day and night by her side. Even writing this is hard as my own memories come flooding back. Recently they were granted a room at RMD Westmead and it just has put the energy in me to do the best I can for this event I am helping to setup. Once again money raised will go towards LEGO sets for not only Westmead RMH but as many as we can. The event is set on Sunday the 8th December. It is generously being held at the Thornleigh squash centre on Duffy ave in Thornleigh. A portion of the raised money will also go towards their junior squash programs which travels around Australia doing workshops and demonstration games. Kwik Kopy, officeworks and others have generously supported our efforts as we only set this up a fortnight ago. Its a community focused event and I think it would be great if you were able to attend, even only for a short period. Just for your information RMH is completely separated from McDonalds. Yes they are main sponsor though it’s heavily volunteer based and in much need of support. If I make just one sick kid smile this Christmas for even a second it will all be worth it.
Where they heard about us: A member of our lego club is part of Rebel Legion Tython Base and she told me how to connect. I also saw you at the Powerhouse mesum once and spoke about getting involved.
