We will (hopefully) have pre arranged parking for those attending, so if you intend on driving please note that as well.
If a bus load of people are coming please let me know, they can accommodate a bus again if needed.
If we carpool a bunch of kits we can also deliver straight to the loading dock. (we can't drive everything to the door, R2 we can for instance)
Closest Train station is Circular Quay should train be easiest way for you.
At this stage the troops are open to all Original Trilogy costumes, we have been asked for Vader, Chewbacca and R2D2 specifically.
As it's a formal event, approved costumes only. No pre-approvals and no costume sharing.
A few wranglers will be required, contact CO's to submit any names.
Much like previously at the ICC, we will have a number of photo op spots setup with drop down banners, as well as using the forecourt, foyer areas etc for public meet and greets. Depending on the numbers we will split up into various locations, so forecourt, the main hall foyer, back stage bar area, the back veranda.
The Stage is super tight so we may not end up on stage, but want to show off the troopers; again like at the ICC event] this may change on the day.
Also given the amazing location we will use the opportunity to get some epic stock photos and the like, the bridge, interiors etc etc...but like we did at the ICC they would love to have as many of us to be on display.
Getting around onsite
All locations have stairs so please practice and keep that in mind (they are generally long and low.)
The hallways within the Opera House are also super low with Heritage listed ceilings so don't hit them, please be mindful Vaders,
I would say the hallway ceilings outside the change space is 6'8" or there abouts.
We will be giving the venue final numbers the week before the event, so please sign up sooner rather than later.
Please ensure you sign up to each event so we can track/manage those numbers.
Wranglers will be needed, so if you can't costume we will need people to assist those in costume, please submit your name for wrangling on the forum.
Tickets to the event will be made available to those trooping, however depending on the numbers, days trooping and the status of the show, we may not be able to have all troopers attend every session. (e.g if you are there all four days, we may only get you into one/two session to ensure everyone gets a go.)
Additional tickets for family members/friends are not included. You may purchase them from the Sydney Opera House website. There are limited tickets left. Please note that if you are assigned a free ticket to view the concert you will not have a choice in your seating locations. If you want to sit with your family/friends you will have to purchase a ticket with them.
